This Privacy Notice explains how Amruta Shukla, trading as Canvas & Colors Academy("we", "us", "our"), collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website or enrol in our art classes. Amruta Shukla is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

• Identity & contact: name, parent/guardian name, email, phone number, age group.
• Enrolment details: chosen course, learning mode (online/in-person), preferred schedule, prior experience, messages you send us.
• Payment data: handled entirely by our reseller Paddle — we do not store card numbers.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookie identifiers when you use the site.

2. How we use your data

• To schedule and deliver trial and paid classes (contract performance).
• To respond to your enquiries and provide student support (contract / legitimate interests).
• To send class reminders, receipts, and account notifications (contract).
• To detect and prevent spam or fraudulent submissions (legitimate interests).
• To improve our courses and website (legitimate interests).
• To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations (legal obligation).

3. Who we share your data with

• Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record, who processes payments, handles invoicing, tax, and refunds.
• Service providers — hosting, email delivery, and database infrastructure that operate under contract on our behalf.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting professionals where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Data retention

We keep enrolment and correspondence data for as long as you are an active student and up to 3 years afterwards for support and record-keeping. Financial records are retained for the period required by applicable tax law (typically 7 years). Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
